New Hampshire records most COVID-19 cases in single day over weekend

MANCHESTER, N.H. – New Hampshire recorded the most COVID-19 cases in a single day over the weekend as active cases again surged to a record high.

State health officials said 3,267 positive test results were reported Saturday, the most in a single day in the state. That helped bring the number of active COVID-19 cases to 17,208, the fourth record set in the past week.

A total of 8,553 new cases were reported from the weekend, along with 459 recently confirmed cases from earlier in the month.

Health officials also reported eight more COVID-19 deaths. One was a person younger than 60, while the others were all age 60 or older. Officials said none of the deaths were associated with long-term care facilities.

Officials said there are 377 patients in New Hampshire hospitals with COVID-19, up from 366 on Friday.
